Hi, I was just online the other day looking for a set of decals for my car and suddenly realized how like every single decal cutter online makes about 500 cool decals but none that are made to custom fit particular models. (except for the muscle car enthusiast pages) Does anyone else have this issues? So i decided to take matters into my own hands and use this summer to catalogue the dimensions of every single car i could get my ruler on and create a site and cut my own decals and sell them. Woudl anyone be interested in such a site? Just tryign to get a feel for my target market. If you are it would be great to know which vehicle you own. Buick . Procedures for Adjusting the Ignition Timing on a '99 Acura IntegraThe 1999 Acura Integra features a 1.8-liter, double-overhead-cam, four-cylinder engine. You should periodically check the ignition timing of the engine to maximize its performance and fuel efficiency. The 1999 Integra's recommended ignition timing is 16 degrees but you can adjust the timing to wherever you like. The ignition timing determines when the spark will fire in the engine. You shouldn't set the timing too far from 16 degrees because you may damage parts of your engine. Step 1 -Warming the Engine Put your key in the ignition of the Acura Integra and turn the engine on. Make sure all accessories are turned off, including the radio, air conditioning and heater. Put the transmission in neutral and engage the emergency brake. Bring the engine to an idle speed of 750 revolutions per minute, or RPM, to get the car warmed up. Step 2 - Checking Open the hood and connect a timing light to the battery and number one spark plug. You can now observe what the timing ignition is by looking at the timing mark located on the main crank pulley. Step 3 - Adjusting Loosen the distributor lock-down bolt with your wrench. Disconnect and plug up the distributor vacuum hose. You can now rotate the distributor with your hand and reset the ignition timing. Step 4 - Finish Tighten the distributor lockdown bolt with your wrench after you've set the ignition timing. Remove the obstruction in the distributor vacuum hose and reconnect it. Detach the timing light cables and close the hood.
Buick . How to Fix a Steering Vibration in a 1996 CamryIn 1999, Toyota issued a recall for the 1996 Camry because the steering wheel set nut was not sufficiently tightened at the factory, causing a vibration in the steering. The recall notice warned that continued operation without the proper repair procedure could result in the set nut coming off, separation of the steering wheel from the steering shaft, and loss of control of the vehicle. Tightening the steering wheel set nut to proper torque specification will fix the problem. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Clean rags Ratchet T30 Torx socket Metric sockets Torque wrench Step by Step : 1 Turn the steering wheel of the car so that the front wheels face straight ahead. Set the ignition to the "lock" position. Open the hood. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 2 Remove the two Torx screw covers on the backside of the steering wheel. They will sometimes come off with a thumbnail, if not; use a thin flat-head screwdriver. Using the Torx socket, loosen the Torx screws until the groove in the head catches on the case. 3 Remove the steering wheel pad. Disconnect the wire harness connector before trying to set the pad aside, so you don't pull on the harness. 4 Tighten the steering wheel set nut to 37 foot-pounds using a torque wrench. Many aftermarket repair manuals have a lower torque specification for this set nut; they are incorrect. Toyota's technical service bulletin ST001-01, released on February 16, 2001, changed it to correct the specifications. 5 Plug the wire harness connector on the steering wheel pad into the harness connector on the steering column. Set the steering wheel pad in place. Tighten the Torx screws using the Torx socket. Replace the screw covers. Connect the negative battery cable. Tips & Warnings If you are borrowing, renting or buying a torque wrench, make sure it is a "foot-pound" torque wrench, so you tighten the set nut to the proper specification. Be sure the Torx bit is fully seated in the screw head before attempting to loosen or tighten the screws. You do not want to strip them. If your air bag is disconnected with the ignition in the "on" or "acc" position, an error code will record. Wait at least 90 seconds after setting the ignition to the "lock" position before removing the steering wheel pad. *C" If the engine speeds up but your car doesn't accelerate when you step on the gas pedal; if there's a delayed response (or none at all) when you shift gears; or if shifting suddenly becomes awkward or noisy, check the transmission (see Chapter 17). If you have an automatic transmission, you may just be low on transmission fluid, or you may have a disconnected hose or plugged filter. If you seek professional help, make sure that they check the problems that are cheapest to remedy before they decide that you need major transmission work! Finally, I strongly suggest that you do the under-the-hood check in Chapter 3. This easy, 15-minute monthly checkup can prevent 70 percent of the problems that could cause your vehicle to break down on the highway. By checking for symptoms of trouble in advance, you can save yourself time and money that you'd otherwise have to spend for towing and repairs. Directional Signals Did you know that the directional signal flashers on your dashboard are designed to provide clues to malfunctions elsewhere on your vehicle? If one of your directional flashers stops flashing or stops making that ticking noise when it flashes, the light isn't necessarily out of order. The manufacturer of your vehicle has cleverly utilized these lights to tell you that a light on the 940

Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies Using the left flasher on your dashboard as an example, here are what various symptoms indicate: W If the left flasher on your dashboard stays on without blinking or making a noise, get out of the vehicle and check whether your left directional signal lights are on in the front and rear. If one is out, simply replace the bulb. After you replace the bulb, your dashboard flasher should work normally again. e* If your left rear directional signal light goes on but doesn't blink, and your left front directional signal light doesn't go on at all, but both your right directional signal lights are working perfectly, your left front directional signal bulb is bad. After you replace it, the left rear light will start to blink again. V If all your directional signal lights aren't going on, check the fuse. Chapter 12 has instructions for finding your fuse box and replacing fuses. V If all your directional signal lights go on but don't blink, your flasher unit is bad. This unit usually plugs directly into the fuse box, so look for trouble there first. After you replace the bulb or fuse that's defective, the dashboard flashers go back to normal. Isn't that lovely? v0 If both signal lights on one side aren't going on, check to see whether the bulbs need replacing. If they don't, the signals may not be grounded properly. Your mechanic can tell you whether this is the case. J> If there's no light on your dashboard when you move your directional signal lever, either the bulb on your dashboard flasher is out or the unit is malfunctioning. i> If one signal light is flashing faster or slower than the others, check to see whether the bulb is the proper one for your vehicle. A heavy-duty bulb will flash faster than a standard bulb. Also check for loose connections or corrosion around the socket the bulb fits into. Buick .
